The Life and Hard Times of Mary Caney 1790 – 1878
Illustrated talk by Jill Mason.
Mary Caney was born in nearby Barton Bendish to a Norfolk agricultural labourer. She showed great resilience and strength throughout a lifetime of deprivation and hardship. Local author Jill Mason has researched her life and written a book revealing much about  the rural social history of that era.
